Cabinet painting is another specialty painting service we provide at Color Touch Painting. Recently a Danville client asked us if we could re-paint her white cabinets, but she wanted to know if it was “ok” to paint some of them white and some of them a darker color. The answer was: “absolutely!” Painting kitchen cabinets in two tones is something we have done many times, and it looks great!
We decided to paint the upper cabinets white and the lower cabinets a dark grey. The dark color of the lower cabinets blends with the countertop and provides a “grounding” effect. The lighter color of the upper cabinets provides contrast and lightness. The client’s choice for the dark color came down to either “Graystone” by Benjamin Moore, or “Elephant Skin” by Behr. The client chose Graystone. Attached is a photo of the results.
Painting cabinets is a very popular alternative to replacing existing cabinets with new. New cabinets can be very expensive to purchase and install. Painting over old, worn cabinets costs a fraction of what new cabinets would cost. But it’s not like painting a wall – kitchen cabinets in particular need extensive prep and paint designed for the task. If painting your kitchen cabinets is something you would like to consider, get in touch with Color Touch Painting and we’ll gladly provide an estimate.
