One aspect of painting that we enjoy is the “before and after”. Color Touch Painting recently prepped and painted a post-1978 home in the Athans Downs Park area of San Ramon. The facade was constructed in a “Tudor” style using rough-sawn wood and stucco and the paint was peeling badly. We wanted to create the most durable paint job! Our approach was to contain the (non-lead-based paint) using plastic, scrape all loose paint off using carbide scrapers, then pre-prime with Zinsser “peel-stop” and then re-prime rough areas with “Kel Bond Ultra by Kelly Moore, a thick, gelatinous primer that smooths out rough surfaces. Finish paint used (after caulk and filler) was Behr premium plus ultra, a self-priming, stain-blocking paint. Another Before and After House Painting project by Color Touch Painting!
